Foundation Diploma for Tertiary Studies
The Foundation Diploma for Tertiary Studies (FDTS) programme is developed to prepare students for higher education. The programme provides the necessary theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience in multi-disciplinary studies to prepare students for different disciplines in the next level of studies.
Upon completion of this course, students may progress to our Higher Diploma courses.
Full-Time: 8 months*
Part-Time: 10 months*
* may be completed in 6 months (full-time) or 8 months (part-time) depending on English proficiency.

Communication
Introduction to Information Technology
Introduction to Social and Digital Media
Psychology Applied to Work
Project
Course Assessment
Coursework-based assessments and examinations.
Graduation Requirements
Students who successfully complete and pass the modules stipulated in the course structure will be awarded the Foundation Diploma for Tertiary Studies from TMC Academy.
Age
16 years old
Academic Qualification
Obtained at least a C6 at GCE O level in any 1 subject
NITEC or Higher NITEC
Integrated Programme (1 passes at a level equivalent to Secondary 4)
TMC Certificate in Tertiary Foundation Programme
English Proficiency
Any of the following:
At least a C6 at GCE O level English
Completed TMC Certificate in Tertiary Foundation Programme
Completed a prior Diploma where medium of instruction is English
Pass an English online test and an interview with the Dean/HOD/designate
Mature Candidates
Mature Candidates of ≥30 years old with 8 years of work experience may be admitted in lieu of academic qualification.

Completed Secondary Education or Year 9
English Proficiency
Any of the following:
IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL (Paper) ≥ 525 or, TOEFL (Computer) ≥ 195 or, TOEFL (Internet) ≥ 70 or, TOEIC ≥ 750
Completed TMC Certificate in Tertiary Foundation Programme
Completed a prior Diploma where the medium of instruction is English
Attend and pass Certificate in English up to Upper Intermediate A level
Attend and EAP Level 3
Mature Candidates:
Mature Candidates of ≥30 years old with 8 years of work experience may be admitted in lieu of academic qualification
