A memorable moment for all of us in TMC Academy
[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”3/4″][vc_column_text]TMC Education Corporation clinches the Singapore HEALTH Awards Excellence Award in the latest installment of the awards, which celebrates outstanding achievements in workplace health and represents the gold standard of workplace health promotion. After receiving multiple recognition awards from the Health Promotion Board (HPB) since 2008, our continuous efforts have once again been affirmed. Most recently, we were also invited as a speaker at the World Congress on Safety & Health at Work 2017.
TMC’s continuous effort in promoting Workplace Health A Workplace Health Committee was set up in 2006, to implement and evaluate the work health programmes and initiatives including scheduled lunch talks by health providers to cater to employees’ job roles and work shifts, allowing staff to leave work earlier to attend workplace fitness programmes and more.
With the guidance from HPB, the committee was able to design more structured programmes. As an SME, we are entitled up to 100% HPB funding on areas like general health talks, mental health and targeted intervention initiatives. This allowed us to have easy access to cost-effective and impactful health programmes for staff. The programmes covered topics like:
chronic disease management
mental wellbeing
active living
healthy eating
grooming and lifestyle
After a few sessions of Zumba and Aerobics in the office, we observed staff forming interests group to take their healthy lifestyle further. We also observed that hands-on workshops like yoghurt making are popular amongst staff!
Healthy Staff = Happy Staff As our Executive Chairman, Dr Chin, shares, “At TMC, we strongly believe that a healthy staff force drives a healthy company that will help us to achieve our goals in our vision, mission and company’s core value and culture. We also believe that as an employer, if we take care of our staff’s well-being, we will get positive and happy staff that will help us to sustain our growth in this highly competitive world.”
The woman behind the campaign Ms Julia Kan, our Human Resource colleague who holds the role of Health Ambassador at TMC since 2006, leads a healthy and active lifestyle. She explains her motivation to spread the active living vibes in the office, “I have been the health ambassador for TMC since 2006. Witnessing the improvement in my colleagues healthy lifestyle has motivated me to continue driving the Workplace Health Programme.”[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]
