The Singapore Tourism Board's tagline is “Passion made possible.” For students who desire to work in the hospitality and tourism industry, there is no better time than now to study at TMC Academy and make this desire a reality.
The Singaporean government is committed to positioning Singapore as the top sustainable and innovative tourist destination.
To achieve this goal, the Singapore Tourist Board’s mission is partnering with industry and the community to create a vibrant tourist landscape. In 2023, there were 13.6 million international visitors to Singapore, and tourism receipts were estimated to reach $24.5 to 26.0 billion.
Given the resilience and ongoing growth of the tourism industry, studying one of the Diploma or Bachelor's courses in tourism and hospitality through TMC Academy in Singapore ensures a student is equipped with knowledge of current industry practices and essential industry-relevant skills.
One of TMC Academy's strengths is that it provides several courses and qualifications within each study area that allow students to choose based on their areas of interest. Evidence of this strength is seen in the number of Diploma and Bachelor courses in tourism and hospitality available to students who wish to work in this growth area.
Benefits of studying hospitality and tourism through TMC.
There are many advantages to studying with TMC Academy. Three of the main benefits of studying hospitality and tourism through TMC are.
Diversity of Diplomas and Degrees offered to students.
As mentioned, TMC provides different courses and streams of study depending on a student’s interests. For example, five Diploma courses in hospitality and tourism are available, ranging from a Diploma to an advanced Diploma and a Higher Diploma covering Hospitality and Tourism Management, Hostel and Restaurant Management, and Tourism and Leisure Management.
Three Bachelor's degrees are offered—one in International Hospitality, one in International Tourism and the third in International Hospitality and Tourism.
Industry Endorsement.
Another benefit of studying hospitality and tourism through TMC is the endorsement from the Food and Beverage Management Association (FBMA) and the Association of Bartenders & Sommeliers Singapore (ABSS). The endorsement from both industry groups enables students to attend industry workshops and events that provide learning opportunities beyond the classroom.
Internships.
A third benefit is that the TMC Academy is certified by the Committee for Private Education (CPE) as Singapore’s sole Private Education Institution (PEI) to provide students with industry exposure through the TMC Industry Attachment Programme (IAP). This is a 6-month industrial work attachment for students studying for their Higher Diplomas in Business Studies, allowing them to apply the knowledge and skills acquired at TMC Academy. Students have the opportunity to intern with TMC’s established partners and hotel chains, such as the Intercontinental Hostel and Resorts, Sofitel Luxury Hotels, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group and many others.
Given these benefits, studying hospitality and tourism through TCM makes sense. The question is, which diploma or bachelor's course?
