Graduation day is more than just a formal milestone—it represents months of rigorous assignments, late-night study sessions, capstone presentations, and personal growth. Whether you are receiving your Higher Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, or Master’s Degree, walking across the stage marks your transition from student to industry-ready professional.

To help you and your family celebrate smoothly, here is the complete guide to preparing for the TMC Academy Graduation Ceremony.

1. Pre-Ceremony Preparation: The 3-Step Checklist

Preparing in advance ensures a seamless, stress-free celebration on the day of the event.

[ Step 1: RSVP & Tickets ]  --->  [ Step 2: Gown Booking ]  --->  [ Step 3: Logistics & Outfit ]

Confirm via Graduation Hub        Reserve via Creative District     Plan transport & attire

Step 1: Confirm Your Attendance & Guest Tickets

Secure your registration through the TMC Academy Graduation Hub. If you are inviting family and loved ones, ensure guest tickets are booked early due to limited ballroom capacity.

(Note: Please note that children under 5 years old are generally not admitted into the main hall to maintain the formality of the academic proceedings.)

Step 2: Academic Regalia & Gown Rental

Your academic regalia (gown, hood, and mortarboard cap) reflects the discipline and degree level you are graduating from.

  • Vendor & Booking: Gown reservations are managed through the official gown service provider, Creative District.

  • Fitting Advice: We strongly recommend scheduling an in-person fitting session at the vendor’s studio to ensure the correct gown length and hood placement before the event.

Step 3: Plan Your Transport & Arrival

The ceremony will be hosted at the PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay. Aim to arrive by 8:45 AM – 9:00 AM to allow ample time for registration, gown adjustments, and finding your designated cohort seating. Late arrivals may not be permitted to join the formal stage line once the processional begins.

2. Dress Code: What to Wear Under Your Graduation Gown

Singapore’s tropical climate and formal ballroom air conditioning require a balance between comfort and professionalism:

  • Gentlemen: A collared dress shirt (a buttoned front helps secure your academic hood loop), dark trousers, and polished dress shoes. Ties are encouraged for a crisp neckline in photographs.

  • Ladies: A formal dress, blouse with tailored trousers, or a knee-length skirt. Avoid excessively puffy sleeves that may bunch up inside the gown sleeves.

  • Footwear Tip: You will be ascending and descending the stage stairs and standing during photo sessions. Comfortable, sensible formal footwear (or low-to-medium heels) will keep you steady and confident on stage.

  • Hair & Cap Styling: Graduation caps (mortarboards) sit flat on the crown of your head, parallel to the floor. Bring a few bobby pins to keep the cap firmly anchored to your hairstyle.
