Upon completion of the O Level Examination Preparatory course, students will sit for the Singapore–Cambridge General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level Examination, which is conducted annually. Awarded by the Ministry of Education, the certification will allow students to apply for admission to polytechnics in Singapore as well as overseas institutions.
TMC Preparatory Course for the Singapore-Cambridge GCE ‘O’ Level Examinations includes an elective module that prepares students for another similar examination, the Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE).
IGCSE is the one of the world’s most popular international qualification for 14 to 16 year olds. It is recognised by leading universities and employers worldwide, and is an international passport to progression and success. Students who wish to study outside Singapore after ‘O’ level may choose to take the elective module, IGCSE Preparation.
Duration
Full-Time : 23 months
Course Assessment
Students are assessed by means of oral and written tests and examinations during the course. Upon completion of the course, students will sit for the external GCE O level test conducted by SEAB.
Oral examination: July/August
Practical & written examination: October to November

Note:
- *no formal lessons, only 2 exam preparation lessons will be provided.
- The Singapore-Cambridge GCE ‘O’ Level examinations are held in October to November. The Cambridge IGCSE examinations are held in November and June.
- Interested students who sign up for the “IGCSE Preparation” elective module shall return to TMC in January/February to start the IGCSE Preparation from January/February to May. They will then take the IGCSE examinations in June. Students who do not wish to take the elective subject, IGCSE Preparation, will complete their course with TMC in November and their student pass will be cancelled upon the completion of their course.
