TMC Academy Graduation 2018

Come year end, it is the time for festive celebrations; and at TMC Academy, we celebrate the academic milestone of our graduands who have made it to this very stage, where they will receive their scrolls and officially graduate!

Every TMC graduation ceremony is akin to a world summit, where we have students from all around the world, with their proud families in tow, attending the event. This is truly symbolic of how Singapore is a melting pot of cultures.

Opening Address and VIP Speech Highlights

This year’s graduation ceremony is also the first time our new CEO, Mr John Lee, publicly addresses the students. In his opening address, he shares his confidence in developing TMC Academy to become a leading institute of higher learning – not only in Singapore but in the region. This confidence is backed by the regional partnerships and wholly owned institutions in cities like Beijing, Yangon, Hanoi and more. Not forgetting our recent win at the JobsCentral Learning Training and Development Awards. Mr Lee also encouraged our graduates to contribute back to the society, with the acquired knowledge and skills that will greatly improve one’s employability.

Meanwhile, in a speech by Professor McKenzie from the University of Northampton (UK), he graciously imparted his secret to the success in life – to be on time, at the right place and in the right attire, wherever you are required to be. We’re taking your word for it, Professor!

The final speech of the afternoon is presented by Dr Tan Kow Wah, Advisor of TMC Alumni and a true jet-setter whom we’ve managed to pin down for this year’s graduation. Dr Tan rallied for all graduates to stay in touch with their classmates-turned-friends and join the alumni’s activities, for who knows might be held at a different city every year due to our diverse student population.

Mr. John Lee, CEO of TMC Academy
Prof McKenzie, Dean of Academic Partnerships, University of Northampton

The scrolls presentation began with the undergraduate awards from the University of Northampton, and the University of Greenwich, our university partners from the UK. Students who progressed from TMC Higher Diploma/Graduate Diploma need only one year to complete this Honours Degree in Singapore. Thereafter, the Post-Graduate, Graduate Diploma, Higher Diploma and Diploma awards, awarded by TMC Academy, were presented.

Due credit has to be given to students who excelled in their studies, with the presentation of Merit Awards to our First Class Honours students from the University of Northampton, and the presentation of Outstanding Student Awards to our Higher Diploma, Professional Diploma and Foundation Diploma students.

Selected recipients of the outstanding student award were also invited to give their speeches – filled with inspiration, gratitude and a little poignance, as they close this chapter of their lives.
