IPRS-TMC Student Chapter MOU Renewal
On 11 October 2018, the Institute of Public Relations of Singapore (IPRS) and TMC Academy renewed the IPRS Student Chapter Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
In the last year, TMC Academy students were presented multiple opportunities to participate in industry events and interact with industry professionals. From a studio tour at Bloomberg Singapore, visits to communications and public relations firms like Ruder Finn, volunteering as media facilitators at TechInnovation 2017, to attending parties and corporate events – what an experience!
The myriad of valuable learning opportunities is only made possible through the Institute of Public Relations of Singapore (IPRS) Student Chapter, which was first launched in 2016. This partnership provides TMC students with a platform for learning and experience with IPRS; establish possible internships with established PR and media firms in Singapore and to gain advice and mentorship from IPRS members, amongst many other benefits. Apart from Business and Mass Communication students, we encourage all students who are interested to join the activities!
For the MoU signing, we are pleased to have Mr John Lee, TMC Academy CEO; and Mr Eric Chan, IPRS Honorary Secretary as representatives.
The MoU signing opening speech was presented by IPRS-TMC Student Chapter Student President, Mr Haven Liu. Speaking from his experience as a participant of all the activities organised, he shared,
The student chapter has opened up many doors and opportunities for me to grow as an individual. I’ve learnt many things – one of which is to be open minded and curious in life. Public relations has been a great platform for me to push myself out of my comfort zone and gain confidence in everything I do. I would like to thank IPRS for providing students with such opportunities.
