Hawthorn English Students TGIF by the Sea!
This term’s Hawthorn excursion sees blue skies, calm waters and rows of fresh coconut juice. Some may be mistaken we are holidaying in Malibu, until we dish out a plate of carrot cake with an added side of sambal chilli (because the spicier, the better).
Welcome to one of Singapore’s most treasured urban getaway – East Coast Park!
One of the best ways to experience the sea views along East Coast Park is via a bicycle, and our students did just that. The crystal blue sea got our Hawthorn English students off their bikes, to capture beautiful photos with their classmates. Soon, the sun got too enthusiastic with its warm reception, and our army of orange and yellow bikes was ready to scoot down the cycling path to the next destination for lunch.
No prizes for guessing, lunch was at McDonald’s! We wonder if the fries and burgers taste better there – look at how happy everyone is!
With so much sight to take in, our students took the chance to learn many new English words and practiced speaking in English with their classmates and teachers. Being outdoors with plenty of laughter and fresh air really makes it a more enjoyable learning experience.
Soon, we arrived at the last stop of the excursion – East Coast Lagoon Food Village, for some refreshing drinks and local hawker treats. What a wonderful way to start the weekend.
