TMC Academy Biennial Agent Conference 2017
This year, TMC Academy’s international and local partners were invited to attend the biennial agent conference in Singapore. The conference provides a platform for our partners to congregate, exchange information and serves as a perfect networking opportunity. Meanwhile, we also took the chance to host our partners and thank them for their effort and contribution in this fruitful collaboration.
Day One
To welcome our overseas guests from China, Indonesia, Korea, Laos, Myanmar, Russia, Vietnam and Thailand, a dinner was hosted on the day of their arrival.

Welcoming our agents from all around the world!
Earlier on in the day, our agents were brought around the campus for an introduction on the facilities and had the chance to sit in for some classes. This experience provides an insight on the way classes are conducted and how the students and teachers interact.

Ms Yeow, TMC Academy’s Chief Executive Officer, welcoming our agents from all around the world.

Agents are brought around the campus by our international office colleagues, Ms. Angi and Mr. Phone. Here they visit our Library where most of the students hang out in between classes.

Here is one of the facilities where our students practice their Hospitality and Tourism skills. ( Yes, we have a bar in the college; Nope, we do not serve alcohol )

Every lecturer has their own teaching style, which makes the classes in TMC Academy interesting.

Agents are given the chance to experience how the classes are conducted…

…and being students again!

Moments later, we can’t really identify our agents… TMC Academy, makes everyone a student again.
Day Two
The second day began at Raffles City Convention Centre, where our agents, university partners and sister schools representatives gathered for an afternoon of knowledge sharing and bonding. Dr Chin, Executive Chairman of TMC Academy gave a welcome address, highlighting the importance of affinity in the collaborations our school has with all valued partners.

Mr. Andrew giving a presentation about TMC Academy
To update our partners on TMC’s offerings and latest milestones, Senior Teacher at Hawthorn English, Mr Andrew Zajicek gave an insightful presentation on TMC’s pathway. This is followed by informative talks presented by our university partners from University of Northampton, Griffith University, Swiss Hospitality Management University (SHMS) and University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC).
To test if our partners were paying attention in class (haha!), they were tasked to solve a crossword puzzle with answers from the earlier sharing sessions. Well, it was considered an open book test because the presentation slides were right in their conference folder!

A short crossword puzzle game keeps all spirits up and chase away the morning blues

This is an open book quiz, so… may the fastest notes-flipper wins!

After lunch, our partners returned for an engaging sharing session by our dear students. The honest and sincere speeches by our students and alumni were both heart-warming and insightful as we got to hear the student’s perspective on the education provided and their studying experience in Singapore. TMC Academy would like to thank our students for taking the time and effort to be present at the sharing:

Thank you for the presentation! You were all great up there!

Getting ready for the Duckie!

The Duck Tour is going to bring us from land into sea around Marina Bay!

We are like sitting ducks waiting to get our photos taken by the other tourists here… #punintended
The fun is just about to get bigger and better, as our partners were invited to our company dinner later in the evening. Stay tuned for the next post!
