Hawthorn Excursion – A trip to the National Library
One of the best things about TMC’s location is that it is only a five minute walk away from the Singapore National Library. There are so many fun books you can read. Did you know reading is one of the best ways to improve your English quickly? It’s true, reading not only grows your vocabulary, but it can make your grammar and comprehension better too.
Sam, the Hawthorn Language beginner English teacher wanted to show her students where they could find good books to enjoy and learn from, so they went to the children and comic book sections of the library. While they were there, the students had some time to look at some books. Now that they know where to find books which are appropriate to their level, they can go to the library on their own and explore English even more after school.
Our Hawthorn Teachers bring students on excursions frequently for interactive and fun learning out of the classroom. Read about their previous volunteering trip to the community hospital here. You may also like to see how well our Hawthorn students can write, as featured on our student works page.
