University of Greenwich

The University of Greenwich is a large and diverse institution which traces its antecedents to 1890 and the foundation of the UK's second Polytechnic at Woolwich in South East London. During the ensuing one hundred and twenty years, the University has merged with a number of other higher education institutions and developed strategic partnerships with a range of institutions in the UK and internationally.

The University of Greenwich is now home to a thriving community of 23,000 students from more than 140 countries. Students benefit from a research environment where staff share their expertise and specialist facilities. Many programmes are work-related with a strong professional and vocational focus. The University has three campuses; Avery Hill in the south-west London district of Eltham; Greenwich, in the historic London borough; and Medway, which is in Chatham Maritime, Kent.

The University has won many awards amongst which it was ranked best in London for teaching excellence, and was top in the London league table for student satisfaction for the second year running. Several subjects at Greenwich made the national top ten for teaching excellence including Business, Computer Sciences, Finance & Accounting, and Management.

The University has also won the award for 'Outstanding International Strategy' at the Times Higher Education Leadership & Management Awards ceremony in London.
