The BA (Hons) Business Studies has a strong commercial orientation,
providing an understanding of various business functions in an international
context at both a conceptual and practical level. It provides
an exciting, fast-paced and challenging course.
The programme aims to further develop students’ knowledge,
skills and aptitudes appropriate to administrative and management
careers in many business functions, including marketing, finance
and human resources.
The degree aims to ensure that students have the confidence and
competence to make business judgements based upon knowledge and
understanding.
It develops students’ ability to analyse and research subject
matters both familiar and unfamiliar to them in order to make balanced,
critical and constructive judgements as to the views and opinions
expressed by others.
The degree takes an in-depth approach and consists of a total of
4 modules.
- Managing Strategy
The course will develop critical analytical skills relevant to
strategic management and introduces students to analytical tools
in the management of strategy in organisations. In addition, the
use of game simulation exercise seeks to facilitate students’
learning processes.

International Business Managment
The aim of the module provides an exposure to students into
the major environmental factors, international trade theory,
globalisation amongst other areas that an international enterprises
face. In addition, these would have implications on HR, accounting,
finance and various functions of an international enterprises.

Small Business Development
The focus is on small business development - initiation, growth,
challengers and termination of new ventures. The course is designed
to give students an understanding of the current academic and
pragmatic approaches to small business, enterprise and entrepreneurship.

Project (Thematic Independent Studies)
The TIS allows students the opportunity to undertake a major
project of self-study through investigation and critical evaluation
of a chosen topic with academic focus and knowledge .
